Katherine L. Baggett is a graduate of the University of Virginia and Vanderbilt Law School and focuses her practice on a variety of commercial and estate related matters. She combines her extensive litigation background, including high-profile estate litigation, with her in-house and non-profit experience to advise corporations and individuals on a range of matters including estate planning, intellectual property protection, commercial agreements, bank audits, internal investigations, litigation, and alternative dispute resolution. Katherine has represented clients in probate proceedings, at trial, and on appeal before state and federal courts and has substantial experience before arbitration tribunals and in private and court-supervised mediation proceedings.
As an undergraduate and law student, Katherine interned in the White House and with the Department of Homeland Security, followed by a position in the Communications & Rapid Response department for a national presidential campaign, before beginning her legal career as an associate with the Manhattan law firm Engel McCarney & Kenney LLP. She then went on to work from 2006 to 2015 as an associate with Howrey LLP and as Senior Counsel with McKool Smith PC, both in New York. Katherine joins Manice & Budd from her most recent role as Senior Counsel for the NorthStar Group, owner of the nationally renowned music publication and website, The Source, where she was highly involved in litigation and mediation proceedings in In re the Estate of Prince Rogers Nelson in Minnesota. With a passion for animal welfare and rescue, Katherine serves on the Animal Law Committee for the New York City Bar Association and on the Board of Directors for The Changing Leads Foundation, which provides sponsorship funding to therapeutic equestrian programs for underserved at-risk youth.
